Certainly doesn't make sense to put a building up, as I don't see a lot of people making a pilgrimage to Stamford CT to go to a museum and see it. If they don't already do it, I think it would be a hit, and profitable for them to have a traveling HOF that goes to the big 4 PPVs and could be set up at the fan expos. It wouldn't take but a couple more trucks to pull this off and they could charge admission to the exhibit and still sell the HOF merch.

Never heard that, but it sounds absolutely plausible.

It makes sense to run that set up if they are putting up the curtains so it doesn't look like a black hole on tv. I would think they could find a smaller venue to suit their needs that would be much cheaper though.

Ahhh, you're not gonna hear anything new from Bredon, but "Party" Marty Scurll was also on there (who was on TNA British Boot Camp), and he told stories, including Mason Ryan stories, and how funny it is, that this massive beast of a man is really called "Barri"

Exactly what I was thinking. I know TNA is owned by some very rich people, but why would you throw heaps of money away, renting out a stadium that might be filled to 10% capacity? It's such terrible business.

Because Vince is the same.
Look at the Condemned, he could have spent half the money on it, put it straight to DVD and made an absolute killing on that movie, because it's a good action movie.
However, Vince being Vince, he spends $20,000,000 making this movie, and then releases it in cinemas, just so he can say "I released a $20m movie in theatres!" Now, here's the problem, he releases this big action movie, how does he advertise it? On WWE shows, the people who were already going to go see the movie are the ones being advertised to.
Austin told a story about how much of a farce it was, one of the supporting actor's friends said to him "We went to see your new movie, we didn't know Stone Cold and Vinnie Jones was in it!" So, they just put it in the theatres just to say they did.
TNA are basically doing the same thing, they work one corner of the Alamodome, who cares if it's the corner? They're working The Alamodome! Now, if they manage to sell out that corner, what are they gonna say? "Our show at the Alamodome sold out!" Not "We sold out the Alamodome", "Our show at the Alamodome sold out!"

Storyline-wise, it's because of the contract Tazz has with TNA. He pointed out in the promo he cut last week on Impact that because of his contract, there was nothing Dixie Carter or Hulk Hogan could do to him or about him or whatever.

If they got the money, which of course they do (& beyond), they might as well run the Alamodome with that set-up and see how they do. If it goes well, go back there again with a set-up that's bigger and so on. If nothing else they can still claim they ran a show at the prestigious Alamodome, even if they didn't sell it out. This show to me is TNA testing the waters at the venue to see how well they do, they know they wouldn't sell out whole place, but it could be somewhere that they could perhaps do decent/good business in the future. If TNA weren't backed by a multi-billion dollar company, id say it'd probably be a huge mistake paying to use such a venue, but as things are with TNA & their financial backing, it's something they can try out & perhaps build upon in the future. Even if it completely fails, it's really no great loss for TNA in the end.

It's probably cheaper to run that set-up at the Alamodome, in actuality. With the AT&T Center taking most bookings and the severe lack of events for the Alamodome to hold at this day in age, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the Alamodome would be relatively cheaper than a newer venue that gets year-round bookings.

I think they're two different things though. I would call Vince's decision to go into the movie industry(or football, and bodybuilding) a calculated risk. He's just trying out a new business. At the very least, there is a method to Vince's madness. He's taking chances that have a potential upside. I can respect that.
With TNA, it's just senseless stupidity. There is no upside. They're just burning money. They can barely fill a 500 seat arena for house shows, so they go and rent out the fucking Alamodome? It's completely retarded.
