Love the stuff in the videos. I wonder though how much of it is legit. The DUI stop on the bike seemed too involved to be a set up but the guy obviously wasn't drunk and it didn't seem like the cops really wanted to mess with him.

Def should show valid drivers license if asked by a peace officer (police, Highway patrol, sheriff) while operating a motor vehicle.

If not operating a MV and if you're walking down the street for example, breaking no laws; that is a different journey... ....

There is no reason to hassle the police. They're just doing their job and it doesn't accomplish anything except put them in a bad mood. If you want to protest then call your congressman or city council.

Yes my point is in a lot of these videos, all of which do not appear to be in CA, all the officers has to do is ask for your CDL.

If you refuse and also refuse to provide name and date of birth you can be taken to the station to be CAL ID'd using fingerprints.

I really don't understand the point of these videos, driving through multiple checkpoints to try and provoke a law enforcement response is a waste of everyone involved in the incidents time.

I don't go out of my way to trample people's rights and do other crap like that, so please don't go out of your way to make my job a pain in the ass. You want to film me, that's fine, I could care less.

I know you said you were calling it a night, but do you have any suggestions as to what would be a solution? It's tough with hyer-sensitivity in regards to profiling, to pick and choose ho you ask what. Would you still be opposed if the border patrol just informed every vehicle what the purpose of the checkpoint was, then wave them through with a good day? Is it the questions or the checkpoints that upset you more?

And I am not being argumentative on this issue, serious questions. I am not being pro government-anti rights on this issue, I think having the experience that I do, that i recognize that no one really knows the solution to these issues where there are obvious problems. I think the obvious solutions are not politically friendly,so they are not addressed. I have an issue with that, but that is another matter.

Border Patrol / Federal workers are not peace officers

In CA if you are doing a checkpoint on the highway as Border Patrol you are required to have CHP there as well. So you would still have to present the CDL to the Chippies.
