During the fight he said something like, guys be quiet he can't hear us
that was hilarious

Hilarious, don't know, intelligent yes.
And he actually told the guys not to yell at the same time because he couldn't understand anything.
Too many time in TUF, everybody yells what he thinks what the fighter should do, but 7 guys + the coaches = the fighter can't understand anything

That wasn't funny at all. He was making a serious comment that made a lot of sense.

He wanted the team to be quiet so the fighter could hear the corner more clearly.

Well, Jones is so right. Sometimes I can't stand it myself. Everybody are screaming their different opinions and tactics. Hard for Jones to guide Gilbert then.

Sure, it's a fight, but it's not a street fight. It's an athletic competition which is being viewed only by fellow team members, coaches, television crewmen, and emergency services workers. It's not taking place in a packed stadium. Everyone there is a professional, and since your teammate winning means you are more likely to get a fight that you want, it would behoove each member to shut up and let their coach do the coaching.
