Well majority saw Frankie winning but the refs will do their thing...

So you can view it as top of 145 vs top of 155 but yenno since this board has a passionate hate for Edgar everyone wants to downplay that.

Who ever uses that argument is an idiot, you could probably look up their post history and I'm sure you'd find some shit crying about Diaz/condit, hioki/guida, shogun/machida, or some other pretty controversial decisions.

After Aldo easily handles Edgar on Saturday night for Frankie's third loss in a row, everyone will know it wasn't a superfight.

It's not an upper echelon quality of superfight but it is a superfight to me.

Upper echelon superfight would be GSP vs. AS. Cruz vs. Aldo. JBJ vs. JDS/Reem/Cain

To me, it usually occurs when someone goes down or up in weight to fight a champion and the fighter has a huge name behind him.

Shogun going down to 185 to fight AS would be a lower echelon superfight, for example.

Just sayin' my piece

Maybe not a superfight but a super fight nonetheless.

Lol most of this board is in love with Edgar; this thread is a testament to that. Just look at all of the fan boys denying reality and calling Edgar the champ

To me a superfight is a fight between two fighters who have dominated their division for a long time impressively.

What I am wondering is if Edgars dominance of the LW division being a bit overstated?

His record in chamionship fights is 3-2-1.

He finished Maynard, but was close to being finished himself in the first round of that fight.

When I think of a superfight I think of guys like GSP, Silva, Fedor and other fighters who were very dominate in their weightclass for years without losing.

I think Edgar is a little more highly regarded than he should because he is an overacheiver who was not supposed to be this succesful in the first place.

I know I will be called a hater but this is my opinion. I like Edgar as a fighter but I do not think his career reflects that of someone who would be in a superfight.

I do not consider this a superfight, do you?
Those two title fight losses are razor sharp decisions to the current champ. One of them is extremely controversial. Face it, he had a basically even fight with the champ. Fuck yeah its a superfight. I don't see how you can't see that.

Hard to be a superfight when the one fighter is on a 2 fight losing skid
