We went up and trained with the University of Delaware strength coaches today and it was a lot of fun. It was a very intense atmosphere and everyone was getting after it.

My fucking Eleiko belt ripped, so apparently my power belly knows no bounds. I'll be getting a refund, rather than replacing it.
Eleiko quality, Lulz. Belt rip at 385 ?

2.Would you recommend getting stronger in the basic lifts(press, bench, squat, deadlift)over the olympic lifts for a potential mma fighter?
3.If yes to #2 do you think the power versions of the two lifts could be used instead of the full versions if you do not have access to a coach to learn the full versions?
I will answer this later today or this weekend when I get back home.

You're telling me... I did get my money back, though, so there was no real loss for me.

Here on some highlights from my trip so far. The clean & jerks from yesterday are on one of the UD cameras, so they're going to put together that video and post it some time.

Well, we were in the Delaware athlete's weight room and many of the athletes that train in that weight room had seen my picture before because there was a picture of me up on one of their racks. Actually seeing me in person, coupled with the fact that everyone was screaming at each other to make lifts had to have made it quite the sight to see.

Plus, I wouldn't say I'm that hard on the eyes.

holy crud, I can't believe that belt rip. We should have tried to get mine on you. And gotten a picture. Kyle's tried to get into one of my coats before with absolutely no success, but it's entertaining to watch.

Well I have to say that the speed your were moving the weight is crazy. You seemed to be really dialed in with your form in the vid. Nice job. And the video quality was good. Like the highlight.

There is no way that your belt would have fit. It probably would have fit well around my quads, but that's about it.

I couldn't believe it when the belt broke like that. All I heard after it fell to the ground was one of Delaware's strength coaches yell, "Fuck it, jerk it, anyway!"

Thanks, man. My speed is really coming along. This was a really solid week of training for me. I got to lift on Eleiko bars all week long, too, so that was a nice change of pace.

I've also received my next training cycle from Dave, so I'll be starting that on Monday.

Clean & Jerk: 335x1

Notes: Easy.

Axle Power Clean: 275x1

Notes: Also easy

This was my last day at Georgetown and I am not headed back. This is actually posted via airplane internet.

Gotta say I'm loving the catalyst program, I appreciate the recommendation.

I'm glad you're enjoying it and its good to see you sticking with something. Keep going with it and I think you'll see huge gains in both your proficiency and numbers.
