Its a solid monolithic rail across the upper from back to front. You don't have to add a rail, its all one solid piece. It comes with flip up irons factory from colt. The nice part of the full length upper rail is you can put any optics forward, your laser sight will not shift its point of aim due to the rail shifting or anything like that.

And I hope you pick up CPT when you get back. I got sad looking at the pay difference from O2 to O3 for my upcoming deployment.

I'm thinking about getting one of the Glock tactical lights. I hear they are good quality, and a lot cheaper than getting a surefire lol.

lol What could have been. I haven't tried to price an AR for a couple of years. What am I looking to pay for a cold these days vs in a few months when all this BS dies down? If I remember correctly a stock colt was around $1k back in 2011. On gunbrocker people are trying to get almost 1.5 to 2k. POPPYCOCK I say

Yeah the price jump is crazy. Most have easily tacked on 500 to the price, some areas have literally doubled in price. The biggest problem right now is the supply is almost completely dried up for retail and your looking at mostly private party sales. Several PD's are even having troubl purchasing rifles for patrol officers.

I would recommend looking at Streamlight. The TLR-1 is under $100 and its aluminum instead of plastic.
