This might be kind of a dumb question but I thought you weren't supposed to dodge punches in the way that rampage did? Meaning when he bends his entire upper body down. In muay thai i've always been told to never do that because you could easily get kneed in the face. I've seen it done in boxing plenty of times which makes sense but mma not so much.
If you jab you might get hit in the face
If you kick or knee you might get taken down
If you punch you might get taken down
If you shoot for a takedown you might get choked out or kneed
See where I'm going with this? If you fight you might get hurt
I know right? That James Toney guy had awful defence
I think it's more of a commentary on THAT GUY on the website attempting to teach what James Toney did.

if you're evading punches by lowering your elevation it's generally better to bend at the knees rather than at the waist, and only lower your head enough to get out of the way of the punch. the real exaggerated dip that Page was putting on is a good way to duck into something fight-ending or have someone walk in and clinch on your broken posture
it'd be suicide in muay thai but most MMA guys don't have the knees or kicks or clinch to make someone pay for it. people say boxing in MMA is unrefined, and it is, but muay thai is even more so. very few fighters throw elbows at all or can strike effectively in the clinch and most can't manage a decent headkick or decent midrange knee. plenty of top contenders throw their hands and maybe a few low kicks and nothing else.
I was digging throught this site and some of the stuff seems okay but then I came across these two videos:
Now when I watched the first video I thought, okay, this is a little weird but I have seen worse, but then the second video was just really bizarre, he even gets hit a couple of times and some of his techniques just look horrendous.
Also the site in general seems choke full of marketing spin and overly complicated fancy stuff like his footwork concepts.

also, he presents himself as a world class coach that's stepped into the ring millions of times. what do you more veteran guys of the sport think of the second video?
