Recommend me a folder
So my birthday is coming up and I haven't picked up a pocket knife since I got my DPx HEST folder. I'm looking for something for EDC with a 3'' blade. I prefer manuals with thumb studs. The ol' lady has been asking me what I want, any suggestions for around $60?

A guess a good question is how do you use an everyday carry knife? Are you looking for utility, defense, cool factor(gotta ask cause that is important to some)? I've had good luck with both Cold Steel and Kershaws for everyday carry.
I carry the cold steel Recon 1 at work and use it to cut car bumpers off when I respond to traffic accidents but that is a little big for your recommendation. My brother had good luck with his SOG folder.
I know all that doesn't reall help ya much but some good brands to consider.

Kershaw Rake, you can find it for ~$70. Beastly knife.

SOG's have a reputation for developing side to side play.
Kershaws are great though.
TS needs to specify how hard this knife is going to be used like you said though.

I'm going to use the knife for EDC, most likely won't get beat up too bad as most of my knives are used for opening packaging with occasional use in camping. Right now I'm starting to lean towards the CRKT M21. I don't care about aesthetics too much, but I like drop point looking blades. Also considering serrated blade because don't own many of those.

Benchmade Griptilian or Rift, depending on your budget.

Cold Steel Recon 1 also comes in Mini, Micro and soon XL versions. The Mini might be a good fit.

For 60 bucks you could get two RAT 1's.
