He is an easy to market fighter that has fought some good fighters and found success.

he is kind of like rampage in sense he has his own unique style, offcourse that would no mean much if he was not a top fighter, very smart at breaking down fights in mma/boxing, became strikeforce champion after training mma for 3 years in mma, and like only 7 fights.
top level mma wrestling, hits hard, has top level GnP.

He's famous?
I guess if he is somehow uniquely famous for an MMA figther, it might stem from his mouth, his win over Roger Gracie, getting beaten up from the bottom by Gregard Mousasi (yet being declared the winner); testing positive for steroids, and then disappearing for a while to be a carny.
I don't know. Take your pick.
He's definitely bigger than his skills warrant, but then again, welcome to the land of self-promoters.

The hardcore fans all know him and realize he's a good fighter with great potential, but I doubt even most casuals have ever heard of him.
