And everyone is forgetting that Davis (pretty much a straight up wrestler in the grappling department) was out grappled by Evans (Wrestling + BJJ) which only goes to show that the way to the top is through both wrestling and BJJ

As a wrestler, I think it is a bit of a ridiculous statement. You can't be good without good sub defense, no matter how good your wrestling is.

I mean sakuraba showed wrestling can defeat BJJ, and shields has a pretty good hybrid form of it himself.
but still see chael vs. any BJJ and it's apparent that top tier wrestling can always fail to BJJ.
