Finding fights?

Not sure if this question has been asked in a thread, but basically I'm just trying to find some amateur fights to get in. I'm only 16 so that may restrict me, but I train daily, and could use some info on how to find local places that offer amateur fights!

I don't know where you're from but in New Zealand you have to be 18 to jump in the cage even on an amateur level. I know Joe Stevenson started his career at 16 although this is the exception more than the rule I think. My advice would be to get at least 2 more years of training regardless or whether you're able to compete already or not. Mma is a dangerous sport and you don't really want to risk your health, so being fully prepared is a must.

Don't worry about fighting right now if you're 16. Compete in as many grappling tournaments as you can, train your wrestling, bjj and boxing/muai thai. But wait a while before fighting. Put in the time... If you're at a school worth it's salt, they will know, if ever you are ready. Getting punched in the face never helped anyone.

I have the same problem, can't find fights. I don't train at an actual gym because the nearest one is an hour away so I have no trainers to ask. I haven't fought in a few years and all my contacts are gone.
