Independant drug testing.
I've had a dream of making it big in the combat sports world for some time now, and I have no intention of giving that dream up for any reason, but that doesn't leave me without some concerns about the future.
I've got some crazy thought in my head that fighters should have to rely on their natural talent instead of being propelled with the use of performance enhancers, weird, I know.
So, my question is about the drug testing process. It's so often quoted that the drug testing in MMA at this point is still very weak and a lot of people say that "most fighters are on something" - I choose not to believe that the majority are, but whatever. Point is, it's something that needs to be looked into further.
Ideally I would want to find a way to test all opponents with the best testing available for all fights, but "money is no object" is certainly not a phrase that I can claim.
Does anyone have any knowledge of olympic style drug testing or similar?
Are fighters in MMA allowed to set up their own testing?
What is the cost of proper testing? I've seen some quotes, like Andre Ward saying $50k - 100k for OSDT, is that accurate and is it likely to become cheaper if it were to be streamlined with more common implementation in everyday combat sports?
Any information is appreciated.

Ah, VADA slipped my mind. I'll look into that some more. Thanks for the tip.

going VADA style on your opponents, will not make you very likeable or popular.
the ones who play the game, do make it, but will pay in the long run with health isseu's.

I am aware of that, unfortunately I am very stubborn and sticking to my morals is just something that I have to do.
I think that if I were to test ALL my opponents, future opponents would avoid taking offense to it due to it just being part of my routine.

Hey don't listen to him man. You think any fighter ever made it thinking that he should get a new dream? Stick with it and train hard enough and you can do it.
