Cup/Box fit problems.
I have now bought numerous cup and compression short combos and none of the cups fit properly?
I want to get used to wearing them before me first MMA fight, in two months.
I’ve tried Shock Doctor, RDX and SMAI.
I doubt it is due to my massive dong (because it isn’t massive at all), but I am thinking the shape of the cup or something.
My issue is basically this, it can cover all my junk but when it does so the soft rubbery bits around the edges do not touch the side of my groin, so basically if I get kicked it still puts all the pressure on my junk instead of pushing it to the sides. Or to phrase it another way it would make little difference if it wasn’t surrounded with soft rubber.
And that if it stays in position, if it doesn't and I kicked I imght as well have not been wearing it.
I had an old baseball one that used to fit, but lost it.
Is this problem something common for fight style cups??
Thoughts or suggestions???
Really running out of options here.

Diamond MMA cup or get a thai steel cup with string. I personally use Diamond mma cup for everything and it works very well.

I know they get great reviews, but so did the shock doctor ones.
I just can't afford to buy yet another and then find out it is useless, the market for second hand cups is not large.

Do you only have this issue with compression shorts/cup combo or with the jock strap type too?

I ebayed my shock doctor jockstrap and someone bought it.
You can try using the cup with a jockstrap or a thai steel for $30 if you don't want to shell out the $$$. Didn't know shock doctor got a good review, I just heard it was mediocre and Jaco's set was just one above it.
Worst comes to worst, ball hits are uncommon and you'll have to use what you have which is better than nothing.

Yet another post, search the forums on the multiple threads regarding the best cups.

Dude, get the jaco guardian. the cup is deep, the shorts keep the cup snug against your body with the straps, you dont get too hot and it moves really well with you. i have two sets of the so i just throw the whole thing in the wash so that i dont have to take it apart to wash.

I use a jock strap and compression shorts over it. It seems to keep everything in place pretty well.
Maybe you should try a different size cup?

Thanks all,
I did search this extensively (more than a few times) but didn't see anyone else having a similar problem.
Also last night I spoke to the ref for my fight and he was pretty clear that he thinks a steel muay thai gup is the way to go, well actaully he just said a steel cup (which to me means MT). He sighted Jens Pulver as an example of why steel is a must.
So it seems I shall now have to look into the world of steel and see what I can find there.
Dan,
It was the compression short combo ones.
