It's not about the martial art they practice, it's about the skills they possess which make the fighter. And as evidence from the fight, Chandler is the better fighter period. There are many guys with Judo backrounds who do well in MMA. However I will say that the mindset of a wrestler, seems to be stronger than that of a typical Judoka. It seems that they have a stronger will to win.

First of all, Judo gave birth to both BJJ and Sambo. All three are modern martial arts with plenty of quality representation in MMA, including multiple high-level champions. Purely on an empirical basis, you're claim is retarded.
Secondly, sport Judo is gi grappling. Western wrestling is no-gi grappling. MMA is no-gi. Obviously, one is more naturally suited to MMA than the other. And Judoka who don't train no-gi (almost all of them) are obviously going to limit their capabilities. When judoka come out of a no-gi judo gym (Gene Lebell & Gokor) like Ronda Rousey, Manvel, Karo, etc., they are fully capable of grapple-fucking their opponents.

Lots of greco guys have lots of natural power too. I think an argument for upper-body wrestling has merit.

Lombard's mostly a stand up monster who uses his Judo for TDD, Sexiyama was basically the same thing, it's strange, all the best Judo to MMA guys fight like heavy handed brawlers with great TDD (Rhonda not included, but she's not a guy, women's game tends to be different). Does anyone have any idea why that is, or why they all seem to have such heavy hands?

Add Sokoudjou to that list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sokoudjou.
