As a contractor or you in the NG/reserves? You may be able to get PMAGS through the supply system, but with the budget the way it is don't count on it. However when you conduct your RIP/TOA see if anyone has any of that stuff for sale. I don't know if I would buy with these prices. Of course I'm cheap.
NG. Never thought of buying someone's stuff during RIP/TOA. I can get the beretta mags here but I'll probably wait on the magpuls. Need to talk to my buddy who just for back and get plate carrier advice on what he used for the last year there.

Supposedly dragon skin is great stuff, but extremely expensive.
Dragon Skin is not authorized and has apparently had some issues, apparently with the heat and sweat the scales deteriorate and the vest fails. Buddy of mine said just a plate carrier worked fine for him and it was much more comfortable than a full vest with ballistic panels and hard plates.
The standard Army body armor is pretty damn uncomfortable.

Good to know, it seems like a lot of stuff seems great until it's used and abused out there. Like the beretta 92f slide failures.

Yeah, I heard Beretta used to be pretty good pistols until they started mass producing them for the government. That's why I shoot Glocks and Sig Sauer

Supposedly the problem got fixed. The 92f had the slide failures, but the 92fs does not have that problem. I would feel comfortable using that gun just because it has had so much field testing with the military.

Great article, I didn't realize that the number of slide failures was that low. The ones in the labs failed pretty fast. 30,000 rounds isn't a whole lot for a pistol. I'm with the author when he mentions how great the 1911 has worked, although I am a 1911 fan and own two.

Biggest issue I've heard with the M9 currently is magazine issues. The army and military on general issue mags that are absolute shit. Gonna bring a bunch of the 17 round ninety-two mags with me for my M9 and some PMags for the M4.
If I can snag an M14 EBR over there I'll be a happy camper. I'd much rather carry that for the ability to hit at longer ranges. But that's just wishful thinking, I'm gonna be out with an M4 and M9.

I'd rather have a .45 ad a .308 just because of that stupid Hague convention that stops the use of hollow points. 5.56 and 9mm lose a lot of their effectiveness without hollow point rounds.
