Only one hand on the bar, the other hand grabs about halfway down my forearm for assistance. The further from my wrist I hold, the harder it is. It's what Jim calls it in his OAC tutorial on BeastSkills.

Conditioning:
Magic 50
5 rounds:
5 dumbbell snatch left hand
5 dumbbell snatch right hand
5 dumbbell swing LH
5 dumbbell swing RH
10 burpees
Time: 8:35 @ 20kg
I forgot how much this sucks. Fastest time I've had going through it though. Definitely need to go heavier on the dumbbell snatches, but I am out of practice with them.
Core:
2 rounds:
10 rollouts
10 V-ups
20 Russian twists
then:
50 crunches
50 sit-ups
50 Russian twists
Muay Thai:
Started off with 3 rounds of shadow boxing, then a few rounds of clinch work. I always enjoy doing clinch work, in part because I'm not too bad at it, and also because I think it's such an important part of Thai boxing. After clinch work, 5 x 2-minute rounds on the focus mitts, doing various drills for close-range boxing and moving off the ropes. Finished with 10 rounds of styrofoam boxing (boxing where you start from right in close, resting against each other). I may or may not have some bruised ribs and a headache. Good fun though, I enjoy taking a few hard hits every now and then because it reminds me that I can be hit hard. Odd, I know, but if you've followed my log long enough, chances are that you know I'm not your everyday person.
Anyway, been a while, so here:

Muay Thai:
Warm-up was 3 rounds of shadow boxing, then on to 5 rounds of light clinch sparring. Got frustrated with one girl I went with, whenever she feels stuck she just gives up and stops trying. It's not constructive for either of our training when she does it, which irritates me a lot.
After that was ten pad rounds, focusing on a different combination or technique each round. I hit first, then held for my partner. I've been having issues with my left shoulder lately, particularly when hooking, and holding made it all the worse. My partner was a southpaw, so overhand lefts were particularly painful to hold for- external rotation seems to aggravate it. Considering seeing a physio.
Finished off with 40 push-ups, 50 squats, 50 sit-ups.

Strength:
Deadlift: 5/3/1 reps: 3 x 120kg, 3 x 135kg, 3+ x 150kg (3 reps)
Pull-ups: 10 x BW, 2 x 5 x 10kg, 5 x 15kg, 10 x 15kg
Seated row: 3 x 12 x 50kg
Dumbbell row: 10 x 24kg, 2 x 10 x 34kg
DB bicep curl: 3 x 12 x 14kg
Barbell curl: 35 reps
Shoulder is still feeling fucky whenever I try do any pressing, so abandoned press 5/3/1 today, and had a back workout with a former client. Introduced her to lower back exercises to help her deadlift lockout, as she struggles with the lift just above the knees and has told me she never does lower back work asides from deadlifts. So, that was alright. And then decided to just make it a good pulling session today, get a bit of a pump going on.
Want to go for a run later, but need to get better running shoes. Going to book myself into a physio too, as I'm worried about my shoulder. Fuck this shit, getting mad.

So, I'm pretty certain it's just impingement syndrome in my shoulder. Going to rest it for a week or so, until the inflammation heals and start including more prehab work for rotator cuffs.
Did nothing today. In a bad mood. Trying to do stuff hurts, I don't rest well.

Since I've been doing regular prehab work, I haven't had any shoulder issues from striking or weight training. Had a few from then getting wrenched while grappling, but that's not really preventable with prehab.
