Try a few gyms (I mean actually do a class) see which one you like and start going there.

In three months repost any questions you still have.

Its awesome fun training for MMA, I mean that I fucking love it, but it is damn hard road if you are looking to make a buck from it. DAMN HARD.

Getting paid for a fight isn't too hard (as I am told), getting paid more than it cost you to train for that fight is very hard.

Davey J's advise was good, but I think perhaps a tad early you need to see if you even actually like to train.

Yeah, that's the only problem at the moment, budget. I'm working part time jobs so i guess I gotta be careful with how I manage my money now lol. I'm sure i'll love training, i'm always working out daily; running/sprints at the track, lifting/calisthenics, hitting pads with friends. The only part that's scaring me is competing in front of a bunch of people...i'd always get an adrenaline dump in wrestling matches which would make me lose in horrible fashion lol

Anywhere that doesn't offer a free trial class can and should be ignored.

re nerves
Go start some BJJ when you can, (Or Judo for now, its usually much cheaper) and you will get your arse kicked.

And I mean you will not stand a chance. Same for the next lesson, and the one after and the one after. You will get you arse kicked for months, actually nah years.
Grappling and BJJ is so effective its kills anyone who doesn't know it, that turns some people away as being good at it seems like years away, others just think I have to learn this shit.

Anyway after a few months of being completely beaten by numerous people you will begin to realise it aint no thang. Then start going to BJJ comps and there will be hundreds of people there, some will watch you some will not.

Best way to stop being nervous about something is to do it.

Well thats what I reckon, but personally people watching doesn't really stress me. I figure that is from my work where I have to do presentation in front of heaps of people, some of whom will ask question I have no idea the answer for, now that makes me nervous but not as much as it used to.
