That sounds a bit intense. Just listen to your body and take it day by day. I'm a bit older so I can only handle doing MT 3-4x a week. Just be careful as you might end up with random injuries during sparring/rolling since you'll be training so much.

Thanks for all the responses.

Like of a few of you have said, maybe it is better that I just start out with one to kind of gage how difficult it would be to do both. I start BJJ on Wednesday so we'll see how it goes.

Wrong forum but,

Try them both for a month, if it's too much, cut the one you like least.

I train twice a week(dont have time for the third day) from 19-21:00, first hour stand up second hour ground. Sparring and wrestling with an opponent at the end of each practice. In the begining you will be sore but you will get used to it, if you want to keep up a pace start working on your cardio.

That's what I've been doing, and it doesn't seem super difficult for me. Fairtex btw. You push yourself to new limits during the Muay Thai class, and you're super exhausted but mentally I feel awesome.

Build up to it. If you want to build endurance quicker I'd kick box and start slow jogging. If you use adrenaline a lot doing muay thai I'd try breathing better and staying relaxed during class. Maybe once a week bjj. As you get better at bjj, you will use a lot less energy with it.

I did my first BJJ class today and really liked it. The most difficult part for me was mainly keeping track of where my hands, legs, etc all go during certain moves, but ultimately the instructor said it was a good first class for me.

Before the BJJ class, I figured I'd watch the Muay Thai class to see what it was about. Surprisingly it didn't seem that cardio intensive to me. They were running drills, practicing various combos, etc, but it didn't seem like anyone was breaking any sort of hardcore sweat. It seemed more of a class concentrated on technique rather than high intensity cardio which I thought it would of been before hand.

Now I'm thinking if this would be a productive Muay Thai class for me to take or not. Being as I have no previous experience, I thought it would be a bit different. I was actually hoping for something a little more exhausting.
