I'd love to see Rampage back the way he was, but as with Shogun and BJ, he's just past it.

Rampage isn't usually "timid". People like to say that, but the tape don't lie. He's only "timid" because people stay way out of his range. Nobody gets close enough to Rampage for him to start swinging, and when they do...they aren't there long, and they back pedal straight out or clinch up. He can either swing at air and have everyone say "How did he win!?!?! he was swinging at air" or he can try to close the distance (which is harder than creating seperation if you're a guy like Jackson) and pick his shots as they come to him, and be called timid.

The one where he did relatively better than anyone not named Rashad and maybe Vitor, and at that point anybody?

No. He only waits to counter people. He never pushes the action, which is why he is timid.

We'll have to agree to disagree.
He "plods forward" as everyone says, while his opponent back pedals, clinches, or attempts take downs.

All in all I just hope we can see an exciting Rampage come next fight. I'd hate to see another legend get absolutely demolished.

How did he do better? By running at Jones, wildly throwing punches? Or just defending takedowns? Get over it.

If Maldonado couldn't knock Glover out with the left hook than neither could Rampage.

This is really stupid. A chin alone does not make anyone a more successful fighter. But if anything your logic can also apply to Rampage not being able to KO Hamil.
And sure those guys Fabio fought in Boxing were nobodies. But one still needs a great amount of punching power to get 21 KOs out of 22 wins.
Also keep in mind his 12 out of 18 wins in MMA coming from KOs.
Add to that the fact that Fabio fought against Glover on short notice.
