Bellator 86 in 2 weeks and only 2 fights announced so far?

What is going on with there scheduling? How do guys study there opponents and train properly on such short notice? Guys that fill in for injuries in the UFC get more notice. Not looking good for Bellator if this is the how they do it. SF did the same thing. Thoughts?

They're spending all their resources and manpower suing Eddie Alvarez.

Their non-tv stuff is usually thrown together at the last minute. Ben Saunders says on Facebook he is fighting on the card, they will probably put another WW fight on it.

I think you're confusing fights not being announced with fights not being scheduled/put together.

Exactly.

He was trying to hate on Bellator and fell short.

Well usually when fights are made, someone hears about it and puts it up. What are they trying to hide? I think if there were fights made they would anounce them. They have cards months away with more fights scheduled than ones weeks away. Im just saying. Its hard to promote a card or hype fights when there "announced" a week in advance. Thats just bad business. And i dont hate on bellator. Im excited for them coming to spike.

At least that is where all the media attetion is at.

Very good article on bloodyelbow for why it isn't worth keeping Eddie in Bellator. With some good rating numbers to back it up.

You're using UFC as the paradigm. With Bellator, if you follow a lot of these fighters on Twitter, they frequently say they have a opponent already, but can't announce their name yet. Brian Rogers made that statement last month, and his fight isn't until February 14th. It's par for the course. Don't ask me the reasoning behind it.

It's more frustrating as a fan, especially if you're going to the event. Mostly what you have to go on is a headliner and the organization. Maybe that's the reason they're doing it, and they're trying to put the organization ahead of the fighter.

Sometimes fighters receive their opponents late, which happens in the UFC as well, but usually they know plenty far enough ahead of time.

I can tell you another fight on 86 is Zezao Trator vs. Raul Amaya. I'm not sure if that's a tourney match-up.

Also on the card is Josh Sampson vs. Joseph Sandoval.

Hunter Tucker vs. Javier Obregon.

I think Lima and Saunders are on the card as well.

This.

There is a difference between not announcing a fight to the public and not making a fight.

Like was said in this thread by JSP Rogers has an opponent already but said he couldnt tell us who it was.

Dont know why they do it, maybe its to avoid letdowns from injury? Wait till the card is about to happen and the fight is def on before they announce it rather than announcing it two months out. Dont know why they dont announce it but it seems most guys know who they are fighting which is all that matters.
