Strikeforce last card not getting enough attention
I know many people think Strikeforce died when Zuffa bought it or when Daley/Diaz took place(last card planned and scheduled by Coker and brass) but I'm still going to miss Strikeforce.
They obviously put on some amazing shows, featured some amazing talent and provided the Ufc with probably it's first real competition since Pride. Yes they had all sorts of mismatches, yes they let the fighters steer the ship far too much and yes they probably grew too fast and paid out to much in salary but it was a hell of a ride while it lasted.
Plus the card features
Marquardt/Tarec
Barnett
Cormier
Kyle/Mousasi
Healy
Roger Gracie
Noons/Couture
Adriano martins- top prospect
Jacare/Herman
Sure there's a lot of mismatches but this is nothing new for Strikeforce. Most, if not all(besides the couture/Noons, Gracie/Smith loser) will be in the Ufc within the next 6 months and although it's not the champions card they wanted it's a damn solid card.
Plus it's on a free preview weekend. So anyone with cable will get to see it for free.

Gotta agree with you, but I can't be surprised that Dana drown the show's marketing like the jealous ex-gf that he is.

It's a very solid card on paper, and has the mismatch goodness a lot of the Coker Nostra era shows had.
However, I think the lack of love has to do with the overall vibe of SF and the show, which is unfortunate.
Things like high profile title fights being scrapped, two shows prior being cancelled and Dana talking to the press about what a disaster SF was and publicly "apologizing" to SF fighters all put a huge damper on things.
Not to mention there is still plenty of time for Kyle-Gegard to not happen.
I kid.

Strikeforce was a fun promotion. They had tons of fun cards and fights. It will be missed somewhat.
This card probably doesn't receive much attention because a lot of the fights that were supposed to happen on it were changed or dropped due to injury.

Wasn't aware of the free preview weekend, thanks for the heads up TS! I'll definitely be watching, it's a really good card. It's a shame Gil isn't fighting on the final card though, with him being one of the biggest faces of the promotion and all.

I agree, it deserves more attention. Some compelling fights on that card, and I must applaud them for going out strong. But I will not be sad to see them go. Strikeforce under the zuffa-banner has pretty much been a disaster and it deserves to die with its boots on.

the lack of attention is likely due to a number of factors, one is the changes that this card has gone through, another is that everyone pretty much knows that this card is just a send off so some may be less interested knowing that it's more of a formality than a celebration. Another is that this card is getting a lot of marketing, if any at all outside of the SF crew, but I wasn't expecting Zuffa to spend money trying to sell the final SF force fight when they aren't really going to make much off of it anyway.
Lastly any left over attention that this card likely would have gotten this week has been stolen by the Eddie Alvarez UFC/Bellator fiasco that one is just bad luck as is the injury bug that hit this card.

That is a big part.
Relative "no names" on the main card aren't helping either.

Having it air at the same as an NFL playoff game probably is not the best idea when trying to get attention. It is not like it is a surprise that the game is airing at the same time. You think that with Showtime being owned by CBS they would know that the 2 Saturday nights after the NFL regular season ends there are always playoff games on at those times.
