I'll own up to my reasoning.

The only two legit strikers he faced (Kongo and JDS) both rocked him in like 3 of the 4 rounds they faced him in and I figured that meant the odds of it happening in at least the first 2-3 rounds was good and if it happened JDS had the power and killer instinct to finish him from there. Obviously the punch he caught JDS with changed things and JDS gassed pretty quick, but I'd still wager JDS takes the rubbermatch despite the odds that the guy who wins the second fight usually wins the third because I think Cain's punch was more of a fluke than JDS' the first time

Because JDS won the first fight.

do what? transform into a light heavyweight, sucker punch him from behind as he was getting lit up, and then sucker punch him 3 times in the back of the head, for a ufc favourite ref to call tko. leaving the fully conscious fighter to stand up and ask why it was stopped. and all this way out of prime, fighting away from home in the opponents back yard, and after 10 years and 19 lineal title defences has come to an end.

no i dont think jds will ever be in that position frankly. he managed one title defence and it wasnt of the lineal one.

in fact 19 lineal defences = GOAT. along with a lot of other stuff, so i dont think jds is really part of this conversation at all.

Cause there was no weaknesses in JDS's game and chances were he was going to KO again. What failed JDS in this fight was his standup, mainly defence and his ability to adapt to what his opponent is doing. Those morons came in with no gameplan and only to react to what his opponent does.

Because nobody has a crystal ball. There are too many ways to win and lose to predict fights at the highest levels reliably.

When you ko a fighter that quickly, you clearly make a statement. For real, never thought that Cain could beat Jds in a so dominant and uncontestable way like he did, congrats Cain you have great personality and deserves to be champion again. But i do hope Jds goes back humbly to his origins train harder and learn from this, and then comeback to a third encounter.

with better cardio, JDS stands an excellent chance in the rematch. Hell in his current condition i'd still be worried about Cain during rds 1 and 2. JDS has insane power
