Glory More Than 10 Events This Year & Adding New Weight Classes
I'm not sure if this has been posted before, if it has, then pardon me, anyway, here's the news:
Glory will be running events in Istanbul and Milan in April aside from the already announced event in London on March 23. Also they will be running 3 events this year in Japan, first in May in Tokyo, then in September or October and then in December.
Glory's expecting to run more than 10 events this year around the world.
Glory also wants to establish 6 weight classes: 63 kg - 138 lbs, 70 kg - 154 lbs, 77 kg - 170 lbs, 85 kg - 187 lbs, 95 kg - 209 lbs and heavyweights.

It's like a recurring theme for kickboxing promotions to make announcements on how many events they'll be doing and the weight classes they'll be bringing, then announcing the exact same thing a few months later with a few minor changes and then doing the same thing again. Now it looks like they changed 65kg to 63kg.
These events are also in addition to the Road to Glory shows, which there will be like 6 in the US and 3 in Japan. First US one on February 1 and the first Japan one in March

Is there a limit to the weight for Heavyweights? Having Semmy being almost 50lbs heavier than most of the guys is outrageous. There should be a super heavyweight class then.

95kg would be a prefect weight class for saki. He didn't have a chance in hell against Schilt

I really really hope it works out. I consider myself a rather equal fan of MMA, boxing and kickboxing, but I gotta say kickboxing is the most consistantly exciting and entertaining out of the three.
The combat sport world needs a well managed k-1 organization with the worlds best fighters. And with more weight classes, I hope they do tournaments in the new weight classes, there must be so many potential superstars there.

i would go to that istanbul event
3 years ago it's showtime istanbul(badr hari-deniz) was cancelled because only 52 (!) tickets were sold
i hope this doesnt go like that. they should give free tickets or very low price because there is no interest in fighting sports mma- kickbox in turkey..
