Merry Christmas man! I have been following this thread here and there.Keep up the training
Regarding the previous question, it depends. For me it is a strict matter of the diet. When I changed my diet it took me around 2 weeks to get rid of the bloat feeling regardless the training day or not.

Hey guys. Just checking in. Been a slow few weeks. Had to take a week or so off due to the bruised ribs. That and the gym has only had classes once or twice last few weeks due to the holidays. As a result, I've gained around 10 lbs back. Tough a nurse friend of mine says that is probably mostly water weight.

Next week we are back to regular schedule, and I'll start working up to two a days. I got some cool MMA gear for Christmas. Got Venum Challenger Head gear, Top Contender shin guards, a new gear bag, and new Venum MMA gloves since my cheap Everlast cloves are coming unraveled.

The head gear will help me stay pretty while getting my face beat in lol. Well at least should help as I get used to getting hit. My head coach wanted me to get used to wearing it if I want to be in the Smoker coming up in June or July.

im glad there are no trolls in this thread, well maybe I missed a few. I started training at 32, 3 years later ive lost 30 pounds and gained a lot of muscles from kickboxing and grappling. Keep up the good work and good luck on your fight when it happens

thank you bro. Immediate goals for this year are to keep dropping weight. Do a no gi tournament or two, a smoker, then hopefully my fight if all goes as planned. Figured by then things will start coming together.

my Dad has started training at 48 and came to sparring the first week so it's defiantly doable. Unluckily for his he gets referred to as Pitbull's dad by everyone lol

thanks guys! Next week when classes start back up on regular schedule, I want to try to work up to two a days. WIll probably do 2 classes twice a week , then do it all four days.

Also wondering if I should do some cardio in the mornings before work if that is recommended or not. LIke 30 min on an eliptical or something. Any thoughts?

hurt my ribs again tonight in BJJ practicing sweeps. Didn't even land hard, just landed wrong. They'd been feeling better. Not sure if I need to cool it in training and just work cardio for a few weeks or what. Its really frustrating.
