All and all, I'm willing to give these guys a chance, especially when it takes months and hundreds of extra dollars for Grant to give you a custom glove.

Those guys from Grant are cheap as eff. They sell overpriced gear, at not near the quality of Reyes, or near the performance of Winnings. They wanted $800 for these 10oz fight gloves. That's ridiculous, it's not even multiple colors.

That's excluding shipping. Bill's company is well within the ball park when it comes to custom equipment prices. Even if they don't have a name.
I am not sure where you are getting your prices from, because when I talked to Eliot a few months ago I could get a full custom kit for $950 with printing extra; facebar is $350, gloves are $375, and groin protector is $225.

I just noticed this in the other thread...

Now that logo is very deceiving as well, as the gloves are not made in Hooksett, NH... The whole thing is kinda shady which is my only problem; and then you get the two guys who own(?) the company wheeling and dealing and making excuses like, "oh, we shouldn't of used that pic, it was just to give an idea of what it would look like".

Once a few people take a chance and buy your stuff, and put up reviews, I am sure it will clear the air and put people at ease.

They told me the patent leather is what makes the price around $800.

So, if Chad's apples are $2 then they're way overpriced because Julie is selling buttons for a quarter?

Makes sense to me.

I'm not a fan of shady business practices like jacking up prices by saying leather has gone up and using other people's pictures. I was going to buy a pair for the website but as it stands now I won't give business to them. Ring to Cage, Ringside, and Title didn't jack up their prices and they're not faceless. There are reps on this board that everyone goes to when they also need help. I'm not sure if custom is worth name calling and inflated prices of a new brand. $200.00 for something custom by someone who hasn't been on the boards very long is a bit ridiculous. Compare that to what Technoir is doing. It just doesn't make sense to me when you think about it, Mexican gear backed by Mexican fighters and already has a history or Mexican made gear made in Pakistan. It's a no brainer. The costs of making gear even if it is custom isn't that much in Pakistan. I made Custom gear from Mohsin and they were half the price. He offers different padding and different designs. Why does he charge less than $100.00 and Bill charge twice that for custom designs when they both are from Pakistan? At the end of the day it's all a matter of preference but I'm not sure if I can back this horse. If you want custom Pakistan gear at that price than go for it. It's all buyers preference, I was really surprised how big of a jump the prices went from being for someone else to sew some padding together. If I'm not mistaken when people were ordering custom made gloves from the USA they weren't this high right? I mean before they stopped making it.

Hi.

I think than Everybody is free to buy from where they want.

In México you can have custom gear for less than $150 USD (shipping including), supported by many, many, many years of tradition, a lot of boxing champions of the world and very good reputation.

You can take a look at the "Mexican Boxing Gear" thread.

Saludos desde México

I think we've all learned a valuable PR lesson here today.

If people question some of your pricing/marketing/actions/etc.... it is likely a bad choice to go on the defensive and make statements that could be construed as insulting your potential customers and their intelligence.

I was just joking around but;

Derp - "A simple, undefined reply when an ignorant comment or action is made. Brought to life in the South Park series, when Mr. Derp made a guest apperance at South Park Elementary as the chef for a day, followed by hitting himself in the head with a hammer and exclaiming "Derp!""
