"No reason for me to watch the ball drop tonight…I lived through the ball being dropped with me all year."
And another first for CM Punk:
With 2012 officially a thing of the past, WWE Champion CM Punk reached another milestone in his historic title run. By holding the belt from January 1st - December 31st, Punk became the first person to accomplish this feat since Hulk Hogan did so back in 1987.
That last couple of years of WCW, EVERYONE lost it quickly:
From January 1999, the WCW title changed hands THIRTY TWO times, and was vacated EIGHT times. The longest reign was Scott Steiner's 120 days (Booker T also went 120 days, but his reign was technically one day, as it was the last ever Nitro, and he lost it in WWE).
Oh, it was ridiculous. Something like 19 of those were in 2000.

Wasn't that angle a continuation from Halloween Havoc? I remember they each had singles matches against DoD members and then each other, and then I don't remember if Luger hurt Savage on a following Nitro or what, but I do remember the PPV.
I honestly dont recall why they were in a program, I just remember they had a match earlier that night and then Savage won it all later. Savage was the face at the time but I cant recall if Luger was a heel or not...
