I think I pointed out in my above post why I (and others) were mistaken in our beliefs of origin. While it was never said "Made In The USA", it wasn't much of a stretch for us to believe it was given the info we were initially provided with.
I am well aware that products not made in the USA (or Canada, where I call home) can still be of a high quality. However, given the choice I would rather spend my money in Canada (or, failing that, the northern US) if possible, and have the production of the products there from a financial security standpoint. The more money that stays in my country, the better for my country. I'm sure that "Bill" spends most of his money (in this case, I'm referring to the profits from BillBoxing) in the US, so I guess I'm happy for that.
Oh, and here's another reason why I prefer "American" made (or Canadian).... You mentioned Apple which has without question outsourced the manufacture of it's products to whoever can provide it the cheapest. Small problem with that if you happen to have a conscience... The factories in which Apple products are made are rife with human and labour rights abuses. Apple is even pushing against the adoption of a human rights committee for their upcoming shareholder's meeting.
This disgusts me.
It is my hope that the humans that make products in North America are afforded better protections based on our laws. This is why I'm more inclined to buy USA/Canada (or other countries where I am familiar with and approve of their labour laws).
Pakistan does have fairly decent labour laws(though highly deficient safety laws), however they are not enforced and workers are still subject to unsafe conditions, especially in the textiles/clothing factories. The recent fire at a Karachi denim factory that killed more than 250 people demonstrated the dangers involved with such a lax protection system, but the abuses at that factory were/are not uncommon in the country.

Whats up with this?
The ebay picture and the picture of UBC's Boxing glove are the same but with the logo change?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BEAULIEU-Her...item337ed63fa5
and
http://www.ubcboxing.com/gear.php
The UBC are like 45.00 and the "custom" is 149.00? Would you care to explain this? Why would you use the same picture and paste a badly placed logo on it? Are they basically the same glove? It would be a shame that people are paying that much of a price hike for the same gloves.
click on the picture of the ubc glove and the background is the same as the one in ebay.

LoL
I get emails like that on a regular basis from shady companies offering me the best or most competitive rates on martial arts gear.
Well, no, we haven't actually ever made the product that we're trying to sell you that we claim is of the highest quality... but here's a picture of what our logo would like like on it if we had.
Also, why doesn't anyone use a red leather for the heritage look?

P.S.
Returns not accepted? What if it's a faulty product?
Most sellers will at least offer an item exchange if the product is defective, and will cover shipping both ways in the case of an exchange.

And if we're going bullshido on this, can we get some proof of association with Al Zimmer and Dan Mosby?

I'm not sure why he used the same picture but if there is a price hike in Pakistan how come it isn't affecting all the other companies like Ring to Cage, Ringside, and Title? A lot of their gear is made in Pakistan, China, and India as well. They haven't put out a release about rising prices. Also I'm doing an article for the site and I asked the manufacturers themselves if there is a price hike and they say are saying no.
I'm placing an order today so I'll call Mohsin and ask if this is true.

Good point. While we're at it, how do we know he's even in the USA? Or that Bill is his real name?
I think he's actually General Zubaru Zalani and in a Nigerian cafe somewhere, personally.
Agree that pricing and descriptions of items should be more transparent and better explained, and using that picture for the ebay image is definitely misleading.

I don't know if I believe that but I do hate getting ripped off esp. when I was just about to order from their ebay store until I noticed that one picture. Not cool bro.
