On Christmas Eve, unbeaten Japanese heavyweight Rio Hidaka (9-0, 8 KOs), 215.5, halted Indonesian Yasir Siagian (19-11, 12 KOs), 184.25, at 2:25 of the second round on Monday in Osaka, Japan. After they probed each other in the first round, Hidaka recklessly swarmed over the game Indonesian and had him down to the ropes for a mandatory eight count. As the referee resumed the fight, Hidaka accelerated his attack to prompt the third man to call a halt soon. Hidaka is willing to test his fists against Australian opponents next year. Promoter: Apollo Promotions.
