i was telling people Muay Thai and some people didnt know so i started saying "Thai boxing"...one of the first people i said that to was a dental assistant chick and she was like "oh, is that like Muay Thai?"

I tell them I train "Mixed Martial Arts" and they say "oh cool". So many people do MMA these days, I don't think it's a big deal anymore.

If I tell people I box, almost always without fail, they mention MMA or UFC. To which I reply, "I enjoy watching it but I like boxing better." And that's the end of the conversation.

Sometimes I'll get, "What kind of boxing?" and I'll be like, "Uh...just regular boxing boxing? The one where you punch people in the face boxing?"

It's always nice to occasionally get people who kind of know something about it and we can talk about recent fights, or they ask me questions on how hard it is cut weight, etc.
