*** Incidentally, I saw years ago a Japanese Shotokan karate champion do that very same kick against a burly American kumite opponent who was trying to batter him with body shots & shove the Japanese guy around.... after the kick hit him, the American put his hand on his head, turned & walked off the mat.... history repeats itself.... |

2. Of course they can, but without training under circumstances where punches to the head are allowed they will not be accostumed to the angles they come from and subsequently the defensive tactics to avoid/counter them AS MUCH AS the TS.

No I agree, they were really out to demonstrate how effective Kyokushin Karate is against boxing.  In my experience, my karate instructors really taught me not to be well, an asshole for a lack of a better word. Its a shame, since Kyokushin deals with some mentally grueling type of assaults across most martial arts, yet those in Nuke's video were so insecure about their style that they had to prove a point. Some students just never learn the true lesson. :/
