What doe's South Africa, Ireland, and India have to do with this. Those were completely different conflicts under different circumstances.

The frenchies helped (mainly money) but not as much as The Last of The Mohicans would have you believe.
They got their money back and managed their main goal which was to stick it to London.
They also named their favorite food after them (french fries) !
What more do you want ?

You are aware that the Last of the Mohicans is about the 7 years war /French-Indian war and NOT the American Revolutionary War, right ?
Actually no, you are not aware of that fact. You are an ignorant guy who uses movie one-liners as arguments. In fact, you are a garden variety internet idiot who has more than a hundred posts in a couple of weeks. Your posts are worthless and I won't reply to them anymore.

I think it was Jimmy Smith on Fight Quest, he was destroyed by a teep to the liver from a savate champion.

Dickbag? Tell me, do you just take random obscenities, and pair them up with equally random nouns? "Fuck Lamp?" "Ass Taxi?" "Shit Rooster?" Is that the way it works?

hey are there kata/forms in the danse de rue savate? i youtubed it and one of the videos was a guy doing kata-like movements. it seemed odd, because i never heard of savate having kata before.

Essentially though your talking about a time period after the emergence and even the formalisation of savate.
That said, having done some research, savate seems to be a very effective street art but is rendered less effectual without the heavy shoes or boots it gains its name from. Root: sabot, a wooden shoe, ouch.
Savate de rue(of the street) sounds nasty, eye gouges, elbows, grappling, knees and headbutts all included. Also uses stick fighting.
I'd say, Savate de rue, for the street.. and Japanese Kickboxing for sport combat.

Germany had the same factors though.
The reality is that the French masses were sick of being used as cannon fodder for their imperial overlords ... and they revolted. It was completely rational, and I would've done the same. The French government treated its citizens like chum, fomented outrageous imperialist wars, and gave them almost nothing back. WWI, the French leaders sacrificed an entire generation of young Frenchmen for nothing better than vicious power politics. And never apologized for that, instead acting as though they were heroic innocent victors over an evil foe. French soldiers revolted en masse during WWI, with nearly half of the French army mutinying
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Army_Mutinies
This was suppressed for decades, and only recently revealed. So in hindsight it's predictable that they just quit almost instantly in WWII. They were completely sick of being victimized by the assholes that dominate the French gov't.

I like the way he in that video uses the hook kick to pull down the guard.
