Andrei Arlovski and Bellator (maybe?)
Andrei Arlovski is a pretty damn good fighter, he may have that glass chin but he's still extremely good with his boxing and has heavy hands. He left the UFC with a win over Werdum and went on to KO Ben Rothwell (not bad) and Roy Nelson (yes the stand up was questionable but its not exactly a certainty that Roy could have submitted him before the end of the round), he then got KO'd by Fedor (no shame in that), TKO'd by Brett Rogers (he had some crazy power but he's lost alot of his sheen after Fedor decapitated him) Bigfoot UD'd him and then Sergei Kharnitov (KTFO'd him which wasn't exactly shocking seeing as Sergei could probably kill a bear with his hands) but he's rebounding now and with Alexander Volkov as the new Bellator Heavyweight Champion, I think AA would be a great test for him and a good name on the old resume. Assuming Bellator could make him a good offer, I think it would be a hell of a fight and be a great way to find out what Volkov's made of.

He typically fights for a lot more than tourney pay.

Yeah, but Bellator would probably pay him his price for a superfight. I think he fought on WSOF for about 60K..i think thats around what they paid Aoki for the Alvarez fight.
Arlovski wouldnt do the tournament anyway. Too many fights in too little time. Volkov is likely to have a non title fight before his first defense..probably next season. Maybe they get AA. I like what both fighters are doing right now. I think Volkov is a tough matchup for AA because of his counter punching and reach...but definetly a good test for him. I would be rooting for AA.

That's a nice dream and all, but
Bellator doesn't pay what Andrei can earn
How does Bellator profit if Andrei comes in and whips their champ? He's not going to stick around and fight in their next tourney like Wiuff did.

AA vs. Volkov would be a fight I would love to see. Super fight deal would be possible, like the Aoki/Alvarez fight.

Maybe Dana and Coker should have fed him to Cormier, instead of that other dude.

Unless the pay would have been 500K or more, I doubt he would have taken it without a UFC contract.

Why do you say that? He had one fight in the Strikeforce HW Tourney. That's the type of fight he needs to take, to even be considered back into the UFC. I wonder if the UFC/Strikeforce has even approached him. My guess is that they haven't. Personally, I think he is more worthy than the guy Cormier is scheduled to fight next, in respect to Showtime. Not a big deal though, Only man outside the UFC that can challenge Cormier is Fedor, and that won't happen.
If I were Arlovski, I'd be begging Coker to fight Barnett on that card.
