I always learned that footspeed comes first (ladders, jumping rope, flow drills), and your hands will figure themselves out.

It sounds like you don't train at all, you shouldn't have taken a fight with an amateur boxer that's undefeated.

If you post the video of your opponent I could give you good advice. Also if you post video of you sparing or fighting could also help.

With the information that you give us in the first post the advice could be as following :

- if he has better technique than you he will probably win.
- your only chance to win is to keep your hands up and trow wild overhand punches every-time when he will moved toward you.
- also if you are lacking with your boxing than avoid clinches because you will be hurt so work on the cardio in this case.
