I'd love to see Rin fulfil her true potential but her career appears to have gone nowhere. Maybe she'll just stay in Japan, remain a star there, take out a few cans to maintain her profile, keep taking those awesome, sexy pics and cream off as much money as she can whilst she's a marketable commodity. She should get a few years of this before she has to do something else.
I'd love to see her drop to 125lbs and give it a go in America. I genuinely believe she could make it. She looked really hungry, focused, sharp, fit and lean against Windy Tomomi 4 years ago weighing in at 120lbs so 125 would be fine for her. She was still awesomely strong and very sexy too.
I've got a horrible feeling though that her career is going backwards rather than forwards. Such a waste with her looks, personality and ability. Maybe her bank balance will improve but unfortunately, not her fighting. I so hope I'm wrong.

She fought to a draw against now retired journeywoman Danielle West whose own standup is very far from good and got completely handled on the feet and then squeaked out a totally uninspiring decision victory in a rematch under special rules. Despite being built like a tank at this point in her career Rin would get creamed by anybody in top ten in the 125,135 or 145lbs divisions. Rin will probably stay in Japan and spend the rest of her career beating cans with 6-25-1 records and squeaking out victories against journeywomen.

Is it pick on Rin Nakai day?
I feel bad for her, she was an exciting fresh new face at one time. But now it seems like her management or some people around her are pushing her in a sleazy direction. I fear she may end up in AV aka adult entertainment. Japan has the second largest porn industry in the world behind the good old USA and it is definitely male oriented.
She needs better people to train with. She should consider dropping to 125 though Roseyweight is where the money is. She just is too short and has no answer for people's reach. There are plenty of tall, strong, Western fighters who can expose her at 135 lbs. With better technique she could jab and change levels or develop some sort of front leg kick strategy.
She isn't the second coming of Mega Megumi or even Megumi Yabushita, look up her fight against Svetlana Goundarenko on YouTube sometime.

There I know how lazy Sherdoggers are.
Nakai actually defeated Megumi Yabushita but Megumi is 40 this year and is probably past her prime as a professional athlete. That fight with Svetlana is still one of the strangest in MMA history.

Rin's main problem is her crazy husband. He's the one making her dress up and pose for pics like this instead of focusing on fighting. He's more obsessed with fulfilling his own fetishes than watching her succeed.

That might make sense if it were true, but surly it is better for the male fantasy if Rin is not married? I don't read Rin's blog and my Japanese ain't what it used to be but I don't remember her ever mentioning a husband.
Japan is a strange place sometimes.
Just did some Googling and it it mentions him in passing some places, wonder if their marriage corresponded with Rin's change from MMA fighter to pinup.

I lived in Japan back in 2004. But I never got to a live MMA show, I was pretty far from Tokyo where most every big show took place. Bob Sapp was everywhere along with CroCop, and Semmy Schilt he was another big Western star that never made it to the UFC. He was ringside once at a UFC event and he fought in the UFC back in the day, but never came over in the Pride migration.
Maybe I should look for work in Japan again...

Thighs like Chun-Li. I'll ride her warwagon until it goes off a cliff.

There could be something in this but something has definitely gone wrong somewhere because when she started out, she looked to have the potential to go as far as she wanted but she simply hasn't improved over time.
She appears vulnerable and maybe she has been susceptible to bad advice and people leading her astray. Also, maybe the quality of her training isn't up to standard.
Whatever it is, her fighting career has stalled and now Pancrase have her under contract, it's hard to see her fulfilling the potential she once had.
It now looks like a diet of cans and fetish porn for the rest of her career.
I hope I'm wrong.
