my poiint is that now that im used to his style and know that i have to be on guard the whole time it has bennifited my traing in leaps and bounds , when im paired with him my elbows and guard is tight , and dont worry i smash his legs and body too , in general it has made for a more real training session , sparring him is like you are in an actual fight , but you get used to that too .

i asked him why he goes so hard all the time and he said thats how they train in the netherands , hes a nice guy (except for the occasional cheap shot ) and he really helped increase the intensity of our clubs training practices ,,, everyone kicks the fuck out of everyones legs now
not sure that is a good way for newbies to start their Muay Thai training.

Couple of things I'd advise. Weight biased to rear, front foot light for checks and teeps. And when you block always counter as instantaneously as possible. If they are going backwards now is the time to land a free kick, if they are coming forward knees or punches or teep if you have the time. Try and end combos with a kick.

Welcome to sparring. Breath..hands up..move..Give as soon as you take one. Go for combos and pace yourself to last all the rounds.
