QFT!!!! Sadly, that sort of story would have been ALL over the news for months, with every whiney politician looking to score points by condemning such "barbaric" behaviour...
I remember him posting the story on Facebook. I recall him being very positive about the response and support from the Police after the event.
It's so cr@p that the Aussies get this reputation as being "racist". Is there racism here? Absolutely - just like anywhere. But it seems every story about racism is reported and sensationalised, no stories told about the daily peaceful co-existence of the vast, vast majority of multi-cultural Australians.

Its pretty racist.. Dont get me wrong its still very successful. But I work in a call centre and the amount of 80+ year old sweet old ladies that hate anyone from india with a burning passion would shock you. Ive been involved in 15 minute one sided conversations about how if I transfer the call to india they will find me and kill me. I always make sure they go offshore when that happens...

i do not dispute that there is racism here, at all... but honestly my experience travelling globally and living here is that it is far less here than it is elsewhere
the exception is racism against aboriginals which is rampant and vicious

I don't know if this makes me racist or not, but I am conditioned to hang-up on anyone with an indian accent. And although I would not threaten to kill you for transferring me to an indian call centre, I would hang up. I can't understand their accent half the time and hate having to say "what" everytime they say something.

Lol thats different codemonkey, I worked outbound cold calling for ages, ran my own call centre and used to not hire indians. Not because I didnt like them, but they made less sales as other people hated them.
Actually wait, we had Australian Indians, like 2nd generation, that had thick aussie accents.
