Nobody was better at that move than Captain Hook.......Roy Jones jr.
At present , I would say baby Floyd has the best.
Watch how he has a different trajectory than most , to hide it and maximize his speed advantage
There are indeed. People have different arm lengths. But a long range punch or outside punch still connects at arms length i.e. punching range. It may start (I.e footwork) just outside of punching range...but ends within it.

Does that mean that you're not all those things when you're perceivably not in punching range? That's a dangerous game to play if so.

Hence the reason I recommended a boxer to study and not an MMA guy. Btw, he HAD. Today his denial of aids and his meth use are probably keeping him sub par.

Yea...those guys are some excellent hookers. ; )
I just didn't recommend them because their styles are hinged on a lot of natural talent which is hard for an average person to replicate.

The reason I made this thread is bacause i see a lot of openings for the long hook. I dont ever throw them without feinting, slipping or as a follow up punch, I just want to be able to make it strong because a LOT of people ake their hand off their chin when you feint or throw a rear hand from a far.

Fwiw, one of most proven set ups is the body jab to high hook. Also hooking off the jab up high as well. Coming off pivot jabs, after feinting low with an elevation change, and etc.
I loooooove long hooks. I like to hit those when I'm side stepping a jab to the outside and angling off. Oh hey that's another way to hit it.

Haha, yes I mean Tommy Gunn, he doesn't play for the doors. I am stoned, give me a break you knew who I was talking about. I don't see how you are even arguing my point, and let me reiterate so you know what I am arguing for, Tommy Gunn sets his hooks up, and throws his hooks from a position where he is on balance and ready to move. Gray Maynard who is fighting a shorter fighter threw a hook from really far out of range with his arm and his guard open, waiting to be countered. There is no comparison between Tommy Gunn hooks and this wild left hook Maynard threw and just happened to catch Edgar with, that is my point. If you disagree so be it.

Lol well dang I wish you would of prefaced with this...
LOL. For the record slowmoe...it IS Tommy Morrison. Tommy Gunn was his character name in Rocky V. LOL. I just wanted to prove the kid was talking shit.
So back to business....here's a great clip I just found of some of the greatest left hooks, and you'll see a lot of long range hooks in there.
