Can you excel in 2 sports?

Right now I just turned 18 and I have been boxing for about 6 months but for the previous 2 years I practiced jiu jitsu and kickboxing I have also been in about 20 fights where me and someone else put gloves on and tried to knock each other out which is stupid i know but it taught me how to fight and i luckily have not lost with all bigger opponents since I weigh only 135 I noticed i have excelled at a very fast pace compared to the average person and i train 5 days a week and I'm going to start competing soon the problem is that the two days off I want to practice jiu jitsu but my father says it will mess me up and i want to continue grappling because i hope to become a professional mma fighter one day so is it possible to become pro in boxing and mma and be good or should I really just stick with one sport?

Thank you in advance

Others more knowledgeable than myself can give you a better answer, but I doubt you can be an elite Boxer while trying to be an elite MMA fighter. See how you go.

That's harsh! Maybe he can be good at one of them.

Roy Jones Jr - Pro Boxer and Pro Basketball Player
Joe Louis - Pro Boxer and Pro Golfer
Alistair Overeem - Pro MMA fighter and Pro Kickboxer

So there is hope but you have to be a special kind of person to make it pro in two sports.

Both Jones and Louis were Semi Pro. As for Reem, that is what roids, hgh, and horse meat can do. Good look on this guy getting into those, if this is what he really wants to do.

But do not give him false hope.

And as for Jim Brown, he was multi sport in College, so no.

Walk fought a scrub in MMA who was paid to lose, so no.

Bo Jackson is a god, this poster aint no fucking Zeus.
