Are people seriously falling for this transparent hype-marketing scheme?

Honestly it makes me kind of want to watch some of it, and I probably will. So it succeeds on that level with me at least.

Where it doesn't succeed with me is making me want to participate in anything like this. If I were competing in it, I'd just feel exploited and used with all of the head games, switch ups, and marketing twists.

Of course I'm never going to do this stuff anyway, so what I think doesn't really matter. But when people talk about how crazy some competitors are for not taking up Lloyd on a training offer, I think about this kind of stuff and imagine that those competitors might have the same kind of reservations about it.

For watching from the outside though for amusement value, it is working on me.

I don't care about the hype or anything else. I just want to watch a bunch of guys around my size and experience level compete with one another. I am excited to watch, and the submission only format means there will be..err...a lot of submissions.

Seriously anyone that likes competitive BJJ should be at least somewhat interested in this.

Its like college vs pro football. Fun things can happen when the guys are on the way to, but not yet the best of the best.
