I struggle with a lot of doubt but it seems obvious to me that all other things being equal a man of faith has the edge on a man who believes in nothing but the material world. Faith is what allows an otherwise normal man to do extraordinary things. Not that a non-believer isn't capable of great things or that God is playing a direct role in making a person superior but having that edge even if it's only psychological is immeasurable.

If there is a God (which I as an atheist don't believe there is) he will make good things happen to good people, regardless of if they believe in him. Thats why I focus on being a good person rather than wasting my time on religious bs. If he requires you to go to church and pray, that's a God that has gotten his priorities wrong and I want no part of it.

Religion as such is scary as hell, you would have thought education had taken mankind further.
