AM Session:

Front Squat: 385x1
315x3x2

Notes: Patellar tendons felt like they were going to asplode but not bad other than that.

Power Snatch+Hang Snatch: 180x1+2x2
190x1+2x2

Power Clean & Power Jerk: 250x2x4

Not a bad session, overall. I didn't feel great and nothing stood out but I hit all my weights, which is all I can really ask.

I ate substantially more yesterday and got my bodyweight back up to 233. This is about where I'd like to stay until after I weigh in next week. Dave said he would like my training weight to be around 238.

PM Session:

Clean & Jerk: 350x1x5

Notes: I wanted to come in and smoke these, no matter how the rest of the session went. Mission accomplished.

Snatch: 205x1x4

Notes: These were solid. My pull felt pretty smooth and I was staying patient.

Squat: 425x1

Notes: I was supposed to hit 425x5 but as soon as I hit the first rep, I knew that wasn't happening. I just racked it and said fuck it because I was happy with the way the rest of the AM and PM session went.

I was feeling way too mentally cooked to do the accessory torso work today. I will do it tomorrow to make up for it.

I have been training fairly light this week, so there hasn't been much to log. I went a bit heavier today, though, to work up to my planned openers.

Snatch: 255x1

Clean & Jerk: 375x1

Notes: Neither of these were as good as they were last week, I can't be too upset, though, since I hit them.

I am probably going to set my openers at 110/165 and then move them up. I just want a bit of breathing room in case I'm not feeling great on Sunday. I think that the added adrenaline from the meet setting and actually having people in the room is going to make a big difference, though, like it usually does. The 295 total is my first goal but a 300+ total would be preferred.

My weight is good, as I woke up at 229 this morning.

I talked to Dave and he said he is very happy with the improvement I have been making and wants me out there as soon as possible.

Hey, I just put up a video of rack jerks that I did today (and hit a new PR) If you wouldn't mind taking a look at those along with the cleans. Especially since the jerks in the C&J video were messed up haha.

Today was a pretty terrible day. I only went 1/6. I smoked my first snatch at 115 and then missed every lift thereafter. Both my misses at 120 were close, as were my three misses at 170 clean & jerk.

This was my first ever bomb out, so I guess its good to get that out of the way. All of my misses were close, too, so I really can't be too upset. Even though I missed basically everything, there were still a lot of good things with my technique and some glaring issues that will lead to big totals once I fix them.

Back to the grind tomorrow.
