Do you have multiple sets of headgear?

I need to buy some headgear for sparring. I plan on taking an amateur Muay Thai fight sometime in 2013.

I was thinking that instead of getting one for sparring and one for competition, I'd just get a competition grade one and use it for both. Is there any reason I need two?

Looking at getting this one.

Not really. It won't last as long obviously. Some people might like to keep their competition one in as good nick as possible I suppose. It'll be fine though. I only have one headguard and our club provides all the competition headguards on the night which is how most places do it in the UK

rather than a chin "strap, I'd recommend a chin protection one...

IME, anything with the UFC brand on it is shitty quality and fit.

Yes, and so do a lot of the Amateurs I work with. In the US, there's USA Boxing approved headgear, and everything else. One of mine is, so any of the kids can use it for competition if they need to, then I have two personal ones of my own.

I'd recommend not having a chin protector. Sweat pools in it and it gets pretty rank.
