MMA Trainingcamp in South America
Hello,
IŽm travelling around the world and at the moment I do work and travel in Australia. My next big destination is South America, but because I couldnt train martial arts for a while, I want to do a trainingcamp for about 4-5 month in MMA. The best place I found is Phuket with 2 good camps. I went to Thailand before and really like it, but I prefer to do a camp in South America, cause I want to learn spanish and so I would be in a spanish speaking environment already.
Do you guys know a camp somewhere in South America, beside Brazil (portugese). With google I couldnt find something.
I asked already in the off topic area and was told to ask her as well. I also have to say, that I only trained a bit Muay Thai before and never MMA, so it must be a beginner friendly camp.

You can go to MMA venezuela or search Venezuelan top team and try to get some training there.
Though I dont know how good the quality is compared to other countries that might have a richer mma history.

Outside Brazil, not much high quality places to train. I think Argentina has some decent MT ( http://www.muaythaiargentina.com/Academia%20MTA.htm) but not so great BJJ. I trained for a while there. The MT teacher was from Tiger and VOS gym and the BJJ teacher was a purple belt from who traveled periodically to Brazil to train.
Colombia also has a growing MMA scene. Your best bet would probably be in Bogota ( http://www.clubekanji.org/home) if you don't mind the chilly weather.

I trained at Muay Thai Argentina as well and they do run a really good program, organize events, etc. MMA is not really their thing though.
Im in Cartagena, Colombia now and the focus here is more boxing-kickboxing, but I have heard good things about Bogotas scene, like Alvaro said.
Good luck!

Does somebody has informations about Peru, Lima? That city would just interest me a bit more than Asuncion.
Paraguay sounds interesting, IŽll send the Gym an email for some information.

Brazil is the only active hotbed. Leonardo Macarrâo goes to CBA many times a year. Lauro Ramirez is the MT coach. He's a beast, used to train the guys at Chute Boxe Camboriú. And you'll have people of all weight classes to spar with from that team.
