Would prime Masato have beaten present day Petrosyan?

As the title says...

Petrosyan is my favourite kickboxer at the 70kg level but i can't help but think Masato would have beaten him. I don't mean if they had fought way back when, i mean if prime Masato fought the Giorgio Petrosyan of today i think Masato would take it.

Apologies if this has been made before.

Thoughts?

Also if you disagree then who do you think is capable of beating Petrosyan present day apart from Buakaw? (They won't fight again)

Petrosyan is a beast! Honestly, I have not kept up with much MT/Kickboxing since K1 went down. So I am not familiar with many of the new players.

A prime John Wayne Parr could prove troublesome and I also like Sanny Dahlbeck.

Nope. Masato and almost everyone else's game is getting into exchanges and trading shots. Doesn't work against Petro. There's no way Masato would out-technique him.

It is such a shame that Petro didn't join
K1 earlier.

Sometime around when Masato became champion for the second time he was asked whom he would most like not to fight, and he answered 'Petrosyan'.

Probably not.

Watch Masato vs Souwer then watch Petro vs Souwer.

Can prime Masato beat Petrosyan? No, but Kiria can.

However if there was anyone who was most likely to defeat Petrosyan, it might have been Masato.

IMO believe it or not, I think it would be pretty close - Masato had alot of speed/power in his punches & was a great combination puncher (works well against guys who counter alot like Petrosyan) & had a pretty solid chin - that said IMHO Petrosyan is miles more technically gifted in nearly every aspect.....it's hard to call - most guys would probably say Petrosyan which is understandable but I think if anyone was to beat him in their prime apart from Buakaw - my money would be on Masato.

I know guys would say Petro outright but I think it's 50-50 provided it was a fresh Masato.

Seen them before (i'm not a noob), that doesn't mean Petrosyan would soundly beat Masato, he could, but i think it would be real close.
