Like a previous poster noted, none of these fighters string together combos for the hell of it. They watch their opponents, study them for patterns/habits, and throw offense very deliberately.
All three of these guys also have SUPERB timing and distancing. They can evade shots by the centimeter it seems, and this allows them to have good BALANCE and thus counterpunch easily.
All three of these guys also have an excellent understanding of angles. They will attack and then pivot ever so slightly out of the way of a counterpunch. They will defend and then pivot ever so slightly to throw a counter themselves.
- good eyes
- good timing
- good distance
These are all part of the "mental game" and the greatest fighters have it in spades
Lastly, all of these guys have shown an ability to take a punch when needed. Probably only Silva is iron jawed, but you can't at the top of any fight game without having a decent chin, since "shit happens."

It's probably no coincidence that all three of them are slow starters. First round (rounds for Mayweather) to gauge timing and distance and then they start upping the tempo.
Too often aggressive fighters suffer of Lauzonitis, they either get a finish early on aheer aggression or get figured out and beaten pretty quickly.
