The benefit of that is that more and different fighters get a chance to fight. For example, there's a seriously good chance that someone like Shahbulat Shamhalaev wouldn't have gotten a chance to fight in the FW tournament. Richman and Bollinger would have certainly been taken before him, but look what he did to them.
I don't mean to jump on you for saying it's a less than star-studded season, it really is, I just think people should look at the positives that a season like this can bring. Calling it weak is overly negative IMO
