I agree. Since my first abysmal post on this forum I was committed to a smart approach to this sport(skill).

Would you suggest sticking with dynamic rows until I can commit to Olympic lifting or to simply work full cleans instead of power ones?

The only thing keeping the Power Clean in my routine is the trap DOMS. I want those swollen trapz brah.
But really, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of benefit in doing a half ass version the real Oly movement, I agree.

Arlecchino, if one wants to transition to OL eventually, is there any reason not to do a routine like Starting Strength but with full squat cleans in place of power cleans?

I originally chose 5x5 over SS or SL for two reasons. 1) while I wanted to get stronger, I also wanted to look better, benching more often would lead to the better chesticles (or at least that was my mindset). 2) I thought dynamic rows would be easier to learn than cleans and I wanted to focus on my other lifts, where my technique was severely lacking. I'm over the whole chesticles thing, I have fallen in love with the press and I am more than willing to learn proper clean technique.
My two reasons for changing now are:
1) I want to start Olympic lifting in the future, probably once my progress starts to stop. To put myself in a good position to do these I want some good technique already on my power cleans.
2) the main resource for BS 5x5, that I've used, has been the on the eclipse website from the FAQs. In there it says not to do any assistance, which is not the case with SS. I want to mix in some overhead and front squats, again to put myself in a good position for olympic lifting; and mix in some assistance for my deadlift, I get good push off the floor but I struggle to keep my back at the correct angle and end up GMing it. I figure taking a step back with my deadlift and fixing my form along with some RDLs will help fix this problem.
My questions, just as above, are twofold. 1) Am I being an idiot and my reasoning above is completely flawed? 2) Since, 5x5 is working quite well for me, is moving away from an effect program even stupider?

Wow. Why did I think doing half the lift would help me? Why did I think letting my hips rise on a deadlift was like a GM instead of a stiff legged deadlift? Why did I think assistance was the answer when I should've just learned how to deadlift (I still need to do this). Why did I think I got a good push off the floor? I clearly was, and still am, horribly weak off the floor.
