And therein lies the marketing problem for "Elementary Sriking."
Only you two aforementioned 'geniuses' understand it.... {maybe}
Don't want to confuse YOU >>>> that means a circulation of 2 for the book.... =P

I purchased both of Jack Slacks books a couple of days ago and they were both terrible.
I am kidding, I just do not want too many of you guys also picking them up and using the same stuff that I am implementing in my training. Jack is a surgeon and a scientist when it comes to striking, and to me this book is like a cliffs notes book- Jack has gone through all of the literature, from Mas Oyama to Edwin Haislet, and he has taken what works and dumbed it down for the rest of us.

No, I am seriously not Jack. I am going to post some shadowboxing vids in a couple of days in this forum for criticism and you will most definitely be able to tell that I am not him.

I bought both of Jack's books and like them. I'm not anywhere near an advanced striker or knowledgeable about kickboxing and boxing so I bought his first book (Advanced Striking) purely out of interest and really enjoyed it. Helps you appreciate the skill of top level combat athletes.
I bought Elementary Striking as well, as that is far more my level, and have found it useful. Nothing can replace real coaching and training, but the book gives a good overview of the fundamentals that everyone should know to be considered a competent striker. So I can compare my own knowledge of technique to that list of fundamentals and see how I am going. I also pick one or two to work on in training each week.
The only criticism I have is that the formatting isn't that great, particularly with Elementary striking. Sometime there are blank pages for no reason, or a photo and its caption aren't on the same page.
At the price he sells his books at, though, you really don't have much to lose by picking them up. Its always good to get another insight on technique.
