If people knew that aliens existed, they would release information to the public little by little over the course of many years as opposed to just outright come out with it.

this is all just a giant BS show to make the sheeple think that there is actually extra terrestrial and other living things out in the universe.
Ermm I'd say it was more apt to call the people who don't think there's other life as 'sheeple'. Sure there's no proof as of yet but the chances of there being no life in the universe whatsoever except Earth is nigh on impossible, unless there was some sort of creater or God who created us and only us.

Scientists do not expect Curiosity to find aliens or living creatures but they hope to use it to analyze soil and rocks for signs the building blocks of life are present and may have supported life in the past.
