Boxing: Hooks/Jabs/Cross while ducking?

Boxing: Hooks/Jabs/Cross while ducking?

Hi just wondering if this is a legit technique?

You duck and stay ducked around your opponent's lower chest level. You guard the sides of your head from hooks. And you jab/hook/cross his face from there.

I think ducking then standing up and delivering the punches is a legit technique but what about this?

I don't do boxing but I do Thai Kick Boxing.

You can, but the trajectory of the punches' gonna be different depends on where you want to hit it.

Punching from a lowered position is absolutely valid. Punching up while sitting provides a greater amount of leverage and better angle. However most don't stay there and just earmuff through an entire fight.

Ducking and staying there in MT is a good way to get your face kneed through the back of your skull. Are you talking boxing or MT?

You wouldn't stay there no matter what you do. Like any evasion your opponent will just adjust eventually and attack you in your new position with whatever weapons he can hit you with. In MT that means knees which are readily accessible and he can clinch your head easily and head kicks become very easy to fire.

Ducking down is the legit way you are supposed to throw a straight to the body anyway except you often see people throw a lazy version which they don't get low enough and end up throwing it down at an angle. Trying to throw successive head punches from that position would be awkward as hell and quickly tire your legs out. Try it for yourself. See how long you can stay down there before your legs seize up.

Thanks I do MT mainly but sometimes I do boxing sparring. I am obviously not going to be using this for MT for the reason you have stated but it is for boxing.
